Selling from Stage and How to Back Yourself

Jeffrey Slayter - July 26, 2021 - 0 comments

The day when you’re selling from the stage and nobody puts their hand up to buy is a day of reckoning for you.

You have to come to terms with the fact that what you bring to this world makes no difference to your value.

When this first happened to me all my insecurities came up about:

…Not being good enough
…or I didn’t have anything to offer to the world
…or it’s not the right time
…or I’m not perfect
…or I could have been more clear
…or I’m just not worth it as a human being.

I just had to sit there and breathe. Although it was horrible I also loved it, because when this happens it’s that edge when you don’t know who you are anymore, because we actually don’t .

It’s all a mystery.

In that moment I got to discover the edge of what’s possible, because if I wasn’t riding the edge, I wasn’t living. So I thrive in that.

It doesn’t seem to happen now because I’m ok with the unknown. I’m fine in that moment if they say no, but when this happens many people don’t say anything. They just stand there and shrink.

What I do now is I double back myself and I encourage you to do the same because this is what it’s going to take to build your business.

Ask your audience:

“Would you like to join (whatever you’re selling)? OK the next step is this”.

Energetically you’re now running it and you’re backing yourself at 30%,

If still nothing happens, I double it to 60% and it goes something like this:

“What are you doing just sitting there?
Maybe I didn’t communicate effectively.
I just revealed 7 top trainers who gave you testimonials and they showed you that I’ve spoken to over 4 million people in 13 different countries.
I shared someone who I helped to make a million dollars and they were just on a video that said they made $160,000 last week.
Are you deaf?
I’m only asking you to invest a measly $575”.

“I think the real question is are you afraid to back yourself?
It’s not about me delivering because I’m crystal clear that I can deliver value to you for what you’re doing.
You’re just questioning if you’re willing to meet me and you should. So don’t waste my time if you’re not willing to do it.
When you’re serious step up to the plate and I will meet you. You’re moving at 100 miles an hour and I’m moving at 150.
It’s your choice… Or just remain complacent living your own life and watching things pass you by …because they will.”

If this still doesn’t work you go to 90% and don’t budge:

“There are only two chairs up here and they’re not for everyone.
This is for people who are really serious about having the life and impact they want.
It’s not for everyone.
It should scare you”.

Take care,
