How to Create More Impact and Growth in Record Time

Jeffrey Slayter - December 12, 2019 - 0 comments

Have you ever woken up in the morning and asked yourself, “How do I create the most amount of impact in the shortest period of time?”

This distinction actually came from Tim Ferriss who would go into startups and challenge their framework of thinking by asking the impossible questions.

It really stuck with me because let’s say you’re sitting down in your boardroom with the people around you and ask, “Where do we want to be in five years?“

And the people say, “We want to be a hundred million dollar organisation in five years, then in that moment he would ask something like, “How would you do this in one year?”

Now that would be very challenging to do from where you are, unless you’re already making ninety-five million, but let’s say you’re making fifty million dollars and you want to make a hundred million within five years. Then he forces the question of, “How would you do this in one year?”, so asking the impossible questions. Then the people say “It’s impossible, it’s impossible”, but remove the skepticism for just a moment and actually challenge it. “How could you do it in one year?

The answer is you would need joint ventures, higher price point items, you would need to know exactly who your client was that you are going to work with, and you would need to mine the existing clients that you have even more effectively. You should probably also provide a new product line or some sort of partnership that could actually support that rapid accelerated growth.

Now, remember there is sometimes impact correlated to revenue. So this is about greater impact in a shorter period of time. I know as leaders we want to really make sure that we’re reaching the people we want to reach as effectively as possible.

If this is you, and you are ready to ask yourself the tough questions so you can create a greater impact in a shorter period of time, I want to have a conversation with you.

Take care,
