What To Do If There’s Nothing You Can Do About a Situation

Perhaps we’ve all been there.

I know I have, where no matter how strong your will and what your intention is, there’s nothing you can say, do or be any more of to change an outcome.

This experience can be one of the most heartbreaking, confusing and anxiety-raising experiences for any human being when there is absolutely nothing that can be done.

When this happens and you’ve tried everything within your being to turn things around or change the outcome and it still isn’t working, this is the time to let it go. Let go of the potential future it held and all the ideas about it, and let go of the past – good and bad. Yet take with you the beautiful memories that make life sweet and remind you that life can be beautiful.

If there were no beautiful memories then take with you the lessons, the lessons that are carried forward in your journey forever. Yet there always remains the biggest lesson in these confusing times. The lesson of trust.

To trust the unknown, known by many names which is yourself and not yourself, a paradox in itself. The ultimate surrender to the wisdom that we were never in control and we can’t make anything happen, we can only witness what has already happened.

Who knows, maybe our destiny is already written and we are reviewing what’s already happened as a witness to life’s grand mystery.

So to be specific, what do you do when a deal’s not going your way, a relationship is not turning out the way you want it to, a friendship is not the way you want it to be? What you do when you’ve tried everything is let it go with deep empathy, love and respect.

Once that happens, if something is meant to budge then the next chapter, the next petal on the flower will open and nature takes its course, and we realign our nature with nature’s grand mystery.

Then something better than you could ever imagine is in store – trust.
