How To Choose Where To Focus

For the past 15 years I’ve worked with over a million people, typically unconventional successful business owners who want to create a greater impact and more meaning in their lives and businesses.

Have you ever woken up in the morning and had so many different opportunities that you’re not sure which ones to focus on; which are the highest leverage points?

Although this can seem like a good problem to have because there are so many opportunities, it can actually create major stagnation in your life and your business where nothing seems to move forward. It’s a little bit like trying to move 10 stopped trains at the same time. This requires a lot of energy, whereas what you want to do is actually move just one train which requires less energy, then move on to the next train.

So when you look at all the opportunities in front of you, which train already has some momentum? Get that train to move so it doesn’t require as much energy. This could mean putting on a project manager or putting a leader in that train to drive it, so you can move to the next train. If you start to move 10 trains at once, none of them will actually move forward. Get clear about which train to actually move forward, and how to do this with as little effort as possible, putting the right conductor in place so you can move on to the next train and create incredible impact.

Take care,
