Mar Singer is a British filmmaker that who is particularly concerned with the homeless situation in New York. Following his move from London, he was able to witness first-hand the level of severity of the situation. After befriending a number of these homeless people, Singer has discovered that there are more homeless people that have been living in the underground abandoned tunnel systems that they would call the Freedom Tunnel. This underground community has grown and now stretches from Penn Station to Harlem.
With his compassion and artistic resolve, Singer has chosen to live with these people in the Freedom Tunnel for a number of months. After witnessing the daily life and the situation that the people living there are in, he decides to help them out by making a documentary.
