One Night in Bhopal is a drama-documentary directed by Steve Condie and written by Avie Luthra. It tells the horrific story that marked history as the world’s worst industrial catastrophe. The tale is told through three different viewpoints; the recollection of five local eyewitnesses who were there that eventful day, a technician at a factory who was saved by an oxygen mask and a local police superintendent who braved the calamity and restored the calm amongst the people.
This calamity was marked by the explosion of the Union Carbide plant situated exactly at the heart of the city of Bhopal that injured and killed 150,000 to 600,000 people in its wake. There was extreme chaos as the people were exposed to volumes of toxic gasses that were released by that explosion.
This documentary film gives you a full account of the events that day and how this disaster not only affected the people of Bhopal, but the whole world as well.
