An Inconvenient Tooth is a film documentary that tackles the controversial issue regarding the water fluoridation controversy which occurred in majority of the English-speaking countries. The ongoing debate was that water fluoridation may cause potential health problems. Other arguments raised included the ethical issues that are invoked, the inability to control the dosage of fluorine used and the whether or not its effectivity is reason enough to justify the projected costs.
After extensive scientific research though, it was established that the above arguments were invalid and the only real threat that water fluoridation may bring is the slight alteration of the appearance of a developing child’s teeth. They even countered that water fluoridation is in fact effective in reducing dental cavities not only in children, but in adults as well.
