Free eBook: Uncovering the Wisdom of 8 of the World’s Biggest Thinkers

Tokyo Time

Tokyo Time is a short documentary that follows two college students through their journey of self-exploration and cultural shock across many infamous sights of Japan.

The first phase is the account of their visit to the Kyoto temples. The city of Kyoto was the capital of Japan as of 794 and was the sight of the Emperor’s home until 1868. Over the face of Japan’s history, the city was rendered wrecked again and again through the many wars and fires that erupted as time progressed. Its sheer historical significance, however, saved it from potential total destruction in World War II, sparing a good number of shrines and temples that still exist even up to the present time. It is currently home to over 1.4 million people following modernization, and is Japan’s seventh largest city.

Another part of the film chronicles their visit to the Tsukiji Fish market, the world’s largest wholesale seafood market.
