“The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln” is a documentary film produced by PBS released in 2011. It details how the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln was plotted by John Wilkes Booth and his associates. Booth was a young Southern actor and big follower of the Confederacy, which is why he decided to act after the surrender of Confederate general Robert E. Lee.
Booth conspired with eight other people but he gained popularity as he was the one who shot President Lincoln when he attended a performance at the Ford Theater. His other conspirators were assigned to assassinate Vice President Andrew Johnson and Secretary of State William Seward.
