Terry Pratchett: Choosing to Die is a close and personal documentary following the eponymous author, Sir Terry Pratchett, as he endeavours to find the best way to silently kill himself. It gradually became worse as time progressed, and it became more and more apparent that there was something wrong with him as episodes became more frequent and intense. Finally in 2008, he was officially diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Consequently, he ponders the option of taking his own life before the disorder reaches its most severe form. It was in Dignitas Clinic in Switzerland, where Terry witnessed with his own eyes the very methods of euthanasia or “assisted death.” He would ultimately arrive to the point where he would face the suicide drug and various dilemmas that came with it.
