Stephen Fry in America: True West is a 2009 documentary which compiles all the national discoveries of the US by host, Stephen Fry.
With the high mesas of New Mexico serving as a backdrop for Stephen Fry’s journey towards discovering the rich history of the South West, traveling to Los Alamos National Laboratory to meet with Terry Wallace and discuss about dark energy. Then it was off to Taos where Stephen rendezvous with local avant-garde architect, Michael Reynolds who presents an out of this world “earthship” houses, eco-friendly dwellings which are energy-efficient at the same time.
Fry then moves on to the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (“The Boneyard”), located in Tucson, Arizona where more than 3,000 old military planes are held in reserve before finally dropping off to the Old Tucson Studios where Fry gets in a quite a tussle with the local sheriff.
