Scottsboro: An American Tragedy

This documentary film follows one of the most controversial and most pressing legal cases in the history of America. It was in the year 1931 when two white women accused nine black teenagers of committing a most heinous crime of rape. The deed supposedly took place on the train, and the two women supposedly made the report after the incident. The consequences of the trials of nine falsely accused teens was staggering. It conjured a massive stirring of people in the two extremes of the nation, North and South, which shaped into one of the biggest internal conflicts comparable to the Civil War (minus the blood shed). With two provocative Supreme Court trials, the case ultimately gave birth to what is currently known as the Civil Rights Movement. The documentary film follows the case as it marks its place in history, focusing on the chronicling of the human drama concerning the nine wrongfully accused teenagers.
