“Invisible Children: Rough Cut” is a compelling 2006 documentary about the widespread violation of human’s rights in Uganda where the Lord’s Resistance Army or LRA abduct children to turn them into rebels. What is more unfortunate is the lack of international attention and support provided to their citizens as their children are tortured by this rebel faction.
The film began as an adventure for three young Americans named Bobby Bailey, Laren Poole and Jason Russell soon turned out to be an opportunity to make an eye-opening documentary they can share to the world. They planned to visit Uganda in the spring of 2003 so they could film the war in Darfur but they got stranded. This was when they had the chance to observe how the Ugandan children walk for miles protected by the dark of the night as they seek for places where they can hide from the rebels.
