Arduino The Documentary

In 2005, the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea School in Ivrea, Italy recognized the need for a cheaper yet still relatively simplistic way to program interactive entities. Designed to replace the aging and considerably expensive ($100) “BASIC Stamp” platform that the school required for its students, the Arduino was conceptualized and eventually conceived. With its tiny frame, yet highly versatile open-source model, this microcontroller platform has revolutionized the level of accessibility for the application of interactive environments. It boasts a plethora of applications including printers, and robots, among others. This documentary film chronicles the story of this technological wonder starting from its birth up to its current form, and the legacy it has bestowed upon all the technologically-inclined.
