Women of Fukushima

“Women of Fukushima” is a short documentary about six Japanese women who share their straightforward insights about the events that transpired after the nuclear accident in Fukushima that happened in March 2011. The women tell how the near nuclear fallout has affected really affected the country and its citizens.

The film is directed by Paul Johannessen and was first televised in 2012 showing details about the ongoing clean-up and how the government is continuously hiding the bitter facts about the incident. It won awards in 2013 for the “Best Mid-Length Documentary” in Reel Earth Film Festival in New Zealand and the “Best Short Documentary” in the Social Media Awards.
