The Origins of AIDS is a 2004 documentary centered around the theory that HIV may have been caused by mass vaccination against polio in Congo, between 1957 to 1960. The film aims to determine the exact timeline at which HIV/AIDS started infecting people, how the disease spread from Africa and beyond and how exactly the disease formed.
It was in the 1950s when Dr. Koprowski and his group of American and Belgian missionaries in the Belgian colonies of the Congo distributed polio vaccines to millions of children. However, some evidence suggests that Dr. Koprowski vaccines were tainted, causing an unknown disease that would later become one of the most horrific pandemics of the 20th century.
Origins of AIDS feature interviews, newsreel footage as well as documented research experiments, and compelling information that could give clues on the origins of HIV/AIDS and potential cure for the disease.
