“The Black Death” is a documentary film about one of the most horrific pandemic in human history. During the 14th century, over one-third of Europe’s population was wiped out because of a mysterious disease.
Modern medicine has studied the DNA of victims in Europe and the results point to a pathogen known as Yersinia pestis bacterium, which could have given the plague different forms. This could be the answer as to why the plague spread so fast within days and nearly wiped out the entire European population.
The Black Death gives a grim look at how the plague killed thousands within days, rising to infamy throughout history as the world’s worst epidemic of all time. The public saw the Black Death as a punishment from God. The film also shows how The Black Death influenced medicine, society, and religion then and now.
