Roman Polanski is a notable director, producer, and writer. Considered as one of the few true “international directors”, Polanski has directed films in various parts of the world including in France, Poland, United Kingdom and the United States.
While Polanski was making raves in the entertainment industry, his reputation was marred with controversy stemming from an alleged rape case of a 13-year old girl. The director was arrested after a Vogue photo shoot in 1977. After almost a year of court proceedings, Polanski then plead guilty to the unlawful sex with a minor. However, in order to escape sentencing, he flew to Europe.
Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired is a 2008 film that documented the last 11 months of Polanski before he plead guilty of statutory rape. The film includes the media frenzy surrounding the case, clips of the old films he directed as well as short interviews of the victims and Polanski’s associates.
