“God’s Angry Man” is a documentary film about religious broadcaster and ordained minister, Dr. Gene Scott. In the late 70s throughout early 80s, Dr. Scott was in conflict with the Federal Communications Commission or FCC after the minister publicly criticized the organization. This led to the brief suspension of Scott by the FCC. However, when Dr. Scott got back on air, he continued his disparaging remarks against the commission.
The documentary features rare footages from Scott’s television program and interview with the televangelist and his parents. The film, which was directed by Werner Herzog, was created not to reveal the details surrounding his spat with the FCC; rather, it was mostly about his fundraising efforts as well as a lengthy tirade against the FCC, going as far as asking $600 pledge from viewers.
