Cross, who suffers from a debilitating autoimmune disease, has lost all hope in regaining his health. Is weight ballooned to 310 lbs. and his gut, as big as a beach ball. He was addicted to pills and led an extremely unhealthy lifestyle.
He was convinced that one of his foot in already in the grave and it’s only a matter of time before he finally succumb to his disease.
However, under the care of Dr. Joel Fuhrman, Nutrition Research Foundation’s Director of Research, Cross went on a 60-day juice fast in order to drop the weight and achieve a healthier body.
Fat, Sick, And Nearly Dead chronicles Cross’ journey towards regaining his health using unconventional medicine, juicing. The film also featured the story of Phil Staples, a morbidly obese man who is on the epic journey towards regaining his health too.
