Bone Diggers is a 2007 PBS TV series centered around a discovery that rock the paleontology, a set of bones of one of the world’s strangest prehistoric creature – a giant predatory marsupial called Thylacoleo. NOVA takes viewers to the Australian outback, enduring extreme weather conditions, treacherous terrain and dizzying drops into deep caverns, searching for the remains of the mega beast.
More than a million ago, Australia was home to supersized hippos, wombats, kangaroo and the Thylacoleo. However, these megabeasts died out mysteriously. NOVA traces back the origins of the Thylacoleo uncovering its mysterious disappearance along other prehistoric creatures and looking for evidence that early human hunters may be responsible for its extinction.
