“Amish: A Secret Life” is a 2012 documentary film directed by filmmaker Lynn Alleway and was first released by BBC. The film centers around the story of a young couple named Miriam and David Lapp and their children. They are members of the Old Order Amish community in Pennsylvania, a group that forbids their members to use any kind of technology.
The film shares never before seen footage of the true lifestyle of Amish people. But by allowing themselves to get filmed, Dave and Miriam are putting themselves and their family at risk. They are bound to be punished by their church elders and yet they were able to convince their Amish friends to be filmed as well. This video is their way of showing their Amish elders that it is time to adopt a more modern evangelical approach.
