Carl Gustav Jung was a Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist who introduced analytical psychology to the world of science. He was the proponent of the collective unconscious, archetypes, extraversion and introversion. He performed further research on these fields in a bit to broaden psychiatry.
The notable psychiatrist is a subject of a 1986 documentary titled, Matter of the Heart. The film features a wealth of archival footage of Jung, painting a picture of the doctor’s private life as well as how he presented his principles about the collective unconscious and how he was able to change our perception of man and his purpose in this world. Matter of The Heart also includes ruminations from his friends, former students and coworkers.
