Listen Up: The Lives of Quincy Jones

With a musical career that spans six decades, the documentary titled “The Extraordinary Life of Quincy Jones” recounts the life of American composer, musician and music producer, Quincy Jones. Regarded as one of the most influential and talented musicians of the 20th century, Quincy Jones has a record of 79 Grammy Award nominations, 27 Grammy Awards and is a Grammy Legend Award recipient.

The Extraordinary Life of Quincy Jones is not your average, run-off-the-mill documentary at all. With little regard for the usual biography methods and formalities, the film puts together a mélange of touching tributes from long-time friends of Quincy Jones including the likes of Michael Jackson, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, rappers like Flavor Flav and Big Daddy Kane and even politicians and notable filmmakers.

The documentary also features the man giving a brutally honest view of his own career, his take on his marital problems and recounting his mother’s mental issues, Quincy Jones going back to his childhood home and recounting gut-wrenching memories growing up in 1940s Chicago.
