Hunter S. Thompson – Fear and Loathing in Gonzovision

“Fear and Loathing in Gonzovision” is a fascinating documentary film produced by BBC Omnibus in 1978 which was centered on Hunter S. Thompson. Directed by Nigel Finch, the film details the road trip that Hunter and Ralph Steadman took going to Hollywood in order to work on the 1980 semi-biographical comedy film entitled “Where the Buffalo Roam”.

The film also contains a fascinating excerpt where John Dean was discussing the testimony he gave regarding the Watergate Scandal to Hunter. The documentary also featured the pair talking about the emergence of the campaign to re-elect Nixon into presidency as well as an eerie exchange where Hunter revealed to Ralph the place where he wanted his ashes to be thrown long before his actual death.
