A lucky few wake up each day sure that they are living their dreams. Everything seems perfect, a great job, a solid relationship and a fabulous roof over their shoulders. But despite the seemingly perfect life, there are others who remain unhappy, listless. They can’t figure out why, despite all the challenges that they faced to get to where they are right now, they’re not happy at all!
The thing is, most people live their live pretending that yes, this is the life that they want. But in their hearts of hearts they know, they are just making themselves believe this is the case. If this is exactly what you feel right now, then stop pretending you’re happy with your life before it’s too late!
How do you know that you’re waiting for something, anything to get you from the rut that you aren’t even aware of? A high paying job, a seemingly perfect relationship, a fabulous home and even living in the best city in the world, all these do not guarantee genuine happiness because happiness should come naturally. You cannot force yourself into it. And in order to achieve happiness, you have to take baby steps into the future!
Focusing On Things That Matter
Most times when we’re too busy living our lives, we tend to forget about the real things that matter, the little things in life! Rather than stressing yourself out with your job, another fight with the S.O. or focusing on money issues, look into your life and find the things that really matter, like your health or cultivating meaningful relationships. From there you will uncover your passion, the things that you love doing way before the high powered job came in, the fabulous pad that’s so hard to maintain got in the picture, etc.
Simplifying Your Life
Are you constantly making yourself worried sick about your health and expenses despite earning more than the average person? Do you come to a point where you yourself is surprised at the amount of things you have to do in order to keep this lifestyle you’ve established? One of the most important part of finding happiness is to simplify your life. You don’t have to drop everything you’re doing to cut back on things, just do what you need to do to ease yourself from stress and eliminate all aspects of your life that are no longer beneficial to you.
Changing Your Mindset
Once you mull over the direction you want in life, start planning out the rest of your life. Rather than dreaming that someday you’ll do this or achieve that, act now. Make it happen. What’s stopping you from achieving your dreams? What are you afraid of? Things won’t happen if you don’t do something about it. So take the first step… and keep going! The things that you do today will directly affect your future. And if you want a great future where you are completely happy in whatever you’re doing, then keep going.
