Road To Becoming Your Highest Self: Counting Your Blessings

woman-coffeeMost people who don’t fully understand the role of energy in our lives would be confused to hear about this type of method because it seems to be all about enjoying life. Because every component in the universe consists of energy, controlling the vibrations of energy we produce will lead us to becoming the highest beings. One way of controlling energy is by having fun and appreciating all the good things that are around us.

The next method towards the road to achieving your highest self is probably the easiest way to do so; this is by recognizing that you are blessed, that you should be grateful for what you have right now and what you will have in the future. Simply put, one way to become the better version of ourselves is by counting our blessings.

Counting your blessings means putting value to all the positive events and people we encounter in our lives and that we must recognize them as they occur. It doesn’t matter how big or small a blessing is, we should always be grateful for them. We should love our life and be thankful that we still woke up this morning. Imagine receiving a present from a friend or relative, even if you don’t really like nor need the gift you will still say “thank you” to the person who gave it to you. This is how we should look at all of the blessings we have. If you are unable to do this, there’s a big possibility that you are too concerned on the trivial matters.

If we are able to instill the method of valuing our blessings into our lives, our bodies and spirits will be more invigorated with positive energy. As we are undertaking this journey towards becoming the highest beings, we gain a better understanding of how much we can benefit by appreciating all the good things in life. This is why we eventually learn to recognize even the smallest of blessings which we receive. Positive energy increases every time we enjoy ourselves so the universe makes these moments pleasurable for us. A perfect example would be the need to nourish the human body with food in order for it to live. We all love to eat especially if we are served delicious dishes. The same can be said to becoming the highest version of ourselves; we need to nourish the soul with positive energy in order to generate positive energy to the universe, ultimately attracting all the right events and people that will take us one step closer to our goal.

The problem with most of us is that we have focused too much on things we think matter the most and have forgotten to have fun. We have become too concerned with our jobs and have been blinded by our dreams of acquiring wealth. Most people have wallowed too much in their worries and problems, overlooking the fact that there are many things that they should be thankful for. We were designed to enjoy life so it is up to each and every one of us to make sure we do so. We have to make a conscious effort to count our blessing as they happen and appreciate the gifts we receive in life.

The good events we experience shouldn’t be too grand in order for us to begin appreciating the beauty of life. Every single day there are many wonderful gifts we should be grateful for! The rising of the sun in the morning, the rain which nurtures the plants and trees, the laughter of children, the tasty piece of bread you had for breakfast, a good cup of coffee, the cuddly cat you have on your lap waiting to be petted.

These are all incredibly simple things which we previously disregarded or overlooked but if you think about it, you will realize that they are indeed great things which should make us all very happy. Each of these is great opportunities for us to improve the energy of our beings and all we have to do is to appreciate and enjoy them.

This is how we should view our lives. We must live our lives one day at a time and keep ourselves from being overly concerned about what we want to achieve in the future. We should stop trying to satisfy ourselves and longing for things which we believe will make us happy.

If we waste time with too much expectations, we end up disappointing ourselves. We shouldn’t expect our life to be always full of joy and success. The reality is, we are bound to experience challenges and pains as we go through our lives. And if we force ourselves to be happy all the time, we will only feel bad when some things don’t go the way we want them to. This is why it would be best to encourage the method of counting our blessings in our lives. We should recognize and be thankful for all the gifts we receive everyday.

When we do this, it becomes a regular thing for us and we consciously make it a point to acknowledge even the simplest events which can make us happy. This principle makes living much simpler and easier because we won’t have to worry about how we can make ourselves happy. And the best part about is that this practice of recognizing our blessings will attract more positive energy patterns which will bring us more good things to us. Let us always count our blessings so we can be more satisfied and have inner peace.

    Jeff,

    It takes a kind of humility and sinking or expanding into the rich spaciousness of the present moment for me to give thanks for all my blessings. And it takes slowing way down, and noticing, actually noticing with gratitude all that I do have in my body, my mind, my spirit, and in all the things that do bring me comfort and pleasure. It is so easy to count the multitude of ways that I don’t have enough or am not enough in this highly advertisement-saturated environment which celebrates the rich and the glamourous and the having of endless gadgets, shiny things, and twirling things. So it’s good to shift my focus, slow down, and connect with all that is in my present, my past, and my future, that is blessing me, supporting me, nurturing me, and uplifting me.
