Improving Your Personal Perception through Meditation

Untitled-2People have a natural tendency to dwell on negativity. This is because we’re exposed to so many negative influences.  The media has a big impact on the way we think and see ourselves. For example, the Hollywood’s obsession with being skinny and fair-skinned. The society is imposing unattainable standards for beauty.

Growing up, we are exposed to name-calling when we do something wrong. Our parents scold us when we make mistakes.  As teens, we experience social pressure. We let others dictate how we act, feel, look and behave. And if we don’t make the cut, we begin to question our capabilities and wallow in our weaknesses instead of finding ways to improve. In the end, we are made to believe that we do not have what it takes to succeed in life discouraging us from even trying.

All these things affect how you see you. These things distort how you feel or think. You become detached from your true self. But the thing is, it’s possible to improve your personal perception. It’s a lot of hard work. You might even need professional help to get through your transformation. But it is possible.

But there is a simple, yet effective technique to help improve your personal perception without spending more. It is called imaginative meditation.

You just squeeze at least 20 minutes of your time meditating. Just find a quiet spot in your home to reflect. The spot should be comfortable and free from distractions. Imaginative meditation works gradually, triggering changes in your life to achieve positive results. This is normal, you cannot expect to change overnight.

Similar to how athletes train for a certain sport; you will need to practice imaginative meditation to be good at it. Be fully committed to removing all the negative beliefs you had and replace them with positive ones. Reject negative thoughts and ideas to establish a strong, positive personal perception.

Imaginative meditation is simple. Once you find the right spot, light scented candles or play calming music. Sit and close your eyes. Take some slow and deep breaths until you are fully relaxed.

Now, imagine the negativity within you flowing out of your body. Picture yourself coming face to face with the true version of you. A person who was made by a Divine Being in his own image and likeness. This means you were created out of love and joy capable of achieving true success. When negative thoughts seep in while meditating, consciously choose affirmative statements.

Focus on positive thinking. Meditate twice per day and gradually, you will start seeing improvements with your own behavior. It will change how you see things or how you think.

Of course, you have to make an effort to focus on positive thinking. Motivate yourself to overcome challenges. Believe that you have what it takes to become successful.

Believe that you successful and the possibilities for you are endless. It will take time, but the results will be very powerful because you are consciously trying to change your personal perception.
