Gaining Self-Growth Through Positive Thinking

gaining1It’s all too easy to dwell on the bad and overlook the good. It’s under stable for people to wallow when faced with challenges they could not hurdle. That said, focusing too much on negativity would only impede you from enjoying your present.

You cannot expect to live a good life if you dwell on negativity. One can only live life to the fullest if he or she has thoughts and actions that can invite positivity. Otherwise, negative thoughts and actions will attract events with the same quality of energy and in return, will lead to unfortunate events.

In the same manner, it is important to look at adversities at opportunities. Challenges are opportunities to become better at what we do. How else are you going to learn new things if all things come your way? Problems also help us learn from experience so the next time we come across the same problem, we already know how to resolve it.

Take the Wright brothers for example, the inventor of the airplane. They had to make several prototypes before coming up with the design that gave them the ability of flight. Each time their initial designs failed, they learned from their mistakes and made the necessary adjustments. Eventually, the Wright brothers were able to come up with the most technologically advanced aircraft at that time and are recognized today as the innovators of the airplane. Now imagine if the Wright brothers simply gave up the first time they came across a problem.

We must realize that even if our problems seem unsolvable at times, we must undergo these challenges because they are a part of our life. Problems are the foundation of our values and personality. They allow us to hone our skills, think outside the box and with a bit of trying, find solutions.


A person who learns for the first time that he has cancer will naturally feel depressed. He will feel sorry for himself and worry about dying too soon. However, that person must be able to recognize that health and illness are both in the same realm and thus are related to each other. This means that the cancer that is inflicting pain to his body is the same medium that will bring him back to health.

Several studies have proven that cancer is caused mostly by intense problems, stress, and depression. Cancer is a by-product of the body’s attempt to keep up with traumatic experiences or extremely sad events especially when it comes to failed relationships. These life-changing moments can be overcome through acceptance and forgiveness where the anger towards another person is eliminated. By doing this, the body of the person will eventually adjust and the cancer will be removed together with the absence of the negative emotions.

This is not to say that people can live for all eternity by nurturing positive thoughts and beliefs. But with the help of positive affirmations, it’s possible for one to live a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling life. Anyone can heal himself both physically and spiritually. All it takes is the ability to look at the brighter side of things all the time.
