Neil DeGrasse Tyson is one of the most respected astrophysicists in the world. In this video, he shares his insights on the misconception that man is a mere speck in the universe. He explains that the atoms comprising the human body can be traced to whatever it is that turned light elements into heavy elements through extreme pressures and temperatures producing stars. As several years went by, the stars having heavy mass became volatile and collapsed, eventually exploding spreading all over the different galaxies.
Tyson adds that the galaxies are composed of oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon, all of which are essential to life. These elements then produce a cloud of gas that condense, collapse, and give birth to new stars in the solar system. This means that all the heavenly bodies are made of the same ingredients for life. And since all the components of the universe are created from the same atoms as the human body, man is also as great as the universe itself.
