First televised in 1987, “Hoxsey: How Healing Becomes a Crime” is a historic documentary film written and directed by Ken Ausubel. The film centers on the life of Harry M. Hoxsey, a coal miner turned healer.
In 1924, his family came up with a herbal recipe that they claim can cure cancer. He began with only one clinic but that eventually grew in number and reached 17 states by the mid 50’s. As his business was growing, the large medical and health corporations constantly battled against his organic medicine.
The film contains various interviews and testimonials from patients claiming to have been cured by Harry M. Hoxsey’s herbal concoctions. It also features the insights of medical experts including those who are from the AMA and FDA.
