If you are one who is interested in starting a consulting business (or any other business for that matter), you may have, at one time, felt as if all the space out there have already been taken.
And it can be confusing when you are looking for your own starting point to squeeze through the people’s awareness.
How do you find that spot that will guide you towards the direction you are aiming for and eventually give you momentum in business?
We often hear that the key to breaking into any business is to ask yourself the right questions:
1. Who’s out there doing something similar in the world?
2. Who is big out there?
3. What are they doing that you are not?
And here’s what most successful people do – they have hired a mentor, they are not doing it alone. It can be difficult to figure things out on your own and that’s where the expertise of mentors kick in. However, the usual problem is that people forgo this in the hope of saving pennies when they are losing dollars and time sorting things on their own.
Remember, your name is your brand but for a little while, your name is like everyone else in the marketplace and you have to deal with it. You may very well likely have to deal first with your own BS so that you turn all your negative “what ifs” into something useful for you and your business.
